Douglas Eby, MD, MPH

Dr. Eby is a physician executive who has served as Vice President of Medical Services for Southcentral Foundation since 1995. He is also a speaker and consultant, nationally and internationally, on healthcare system design and quality improvement. In his role he is part of the leadership team for the Alaska Native Medical Center. Dr. Eby played a key role in the development of Southcentral Foundation's nationally recognized innovative primary care system.

Dr. Eby earned his Bachelor's degree in biology from Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana and his Medical degree at the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. In 1989, he completed a three-year, family practice residency at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Edgewood, Kentucky. In 1994, Dr. Eby completed a Master's in Public Health degree, focused on administration and planning, from the University of Hawaii.

Dr. Eby is the recipient of numerous awards including the Physician Executive of the Year award through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Indian Health Service Physician Leader of the Year, and the Alaska Health Services Award.
