Debra Lopez

Debra Lopez is the Administrative Coordinator for the Rasmuson Foundation. Interacting with all sectors of the Rasmuson Foundation from grantees and hopeful grantees to staff and the general public, Ms. Lopez provides direct support in grants processing and fills a critical function as a member of the Foundation team.

Immediately prior to joining the Foundation, Ms. Lopez planned and directed nearly all major events at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) including its annual commencement ceremony. One thousand students and hundreds of faculty and staff typically participate in the university's signature event. Ms. Lopez remains active at the university volunteering with the UAA Alumni Association and the UAA Architects' and Engineering Club. Her interest in the university extends to two children graduating from UAA in the next 18 months. A part-time student herself, Ms. Lopez is working toward a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.

Ms. Lopez's Alaskan adventure began in 1982. As a small business entrepreneur, she owned and operated several small businesses including a daycare and a travel agency in Anchorage, as well as a bed and breakfast in Valdez Alaska. She served on the Valdez Chamber Board and was active volunteering for the Valdez Convention and Visitor Center.

In her off time, Debra and her husband spend time traveling around South Central Alaska and are currently building a log cabin in Talkeetna, Alaska.
