Jeff Baird

Jeff Baird is a Program Associate at Rasmuson Foundation. After graduating from law school, he moved to Alaska in 2008 to accept a one-year judicial clerkship with the State of Alaska Fourth Judicial District Superior Court in Bethel. Upon completion, he accepted a second clerkship with the State of Alaska Third Judicial District Superior Court in 2009 and has since made Anchorage his home.

Previously, Jeff spent six years working as a reporter for daily newspapers in northeastern Minnesota and North Dakota. He has experience covering a range of topics, including state and county government, education and economic development.

Jeff graduated with a degree in print journalism from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, in 1998. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, in Minneapolis, MN, in 2008.

Jeff, a native of Illinois, has been involved in public service throughout his life, volunteering with a variety of organizations, including Meals on Wheels and Habitat for Humanity. He adopted his dog Kusko from Alaska Dog and Puppy Rescue in 2009, and the two have enjoyed exploring the state one hike at a time.
