Penny Gage is a Program Associate for Rasmuson Foundation. She started at the Foundation as a communications Intern in 2008 through the First Alaskans Internship program. Gage grew up in Sitka and earned bachelor's degrees in Spanish and communication from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Gage also interned with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Office of External Affairs in Washington, D.C. in 2008, before serving as Community Health volunteer in the U.S. Peace Corps in Nicaragua from 2009-2011. Gage is an avid traveler, having studied abroad in Spain and traveled throughout Central and South America during her Peace Corps service. She enjoys speaking Spanish whenever she can, exploring Southeast Alaska's beautiful scenery through hiking and boating, and spending time with her family in Kotzebue and Sitka, including two talkative young nieces.
